Profile selection matters: Start by matching the stair nosing profile to the step geometry and floorcovering thickness. Gradus offers PVC-u and aluminium options, with gauges suited to everything from resilient finishes to 12mm stone. This ensures flush installation and reduces trip risk.

Prioritise slip resistance: BS 8300-2:2018 and BS 5395-1:2010 require inserts with a Pendulum Test Value (PTV) above 36. Gradus Xtra-grip and Xtra-grip Plus inserts meet this benchmark, making them ideal for high-traffic environments like healthcare and education.
